Description

Leaving from their hotels, by the coral highway, we arrived at Miches a small fishing village, and continue the journey to Sabana de la Mar to board the boat out of caño hondo, to Los Haitises National Park, is one of the 4 most important caric parks in the world, with a rich fauna and exuberant flora, with endemic species of the area.

Once in the park we visited Three Caves, which have petroglyphs and carvings on the rock walls. There you can appreciate the art left by the Tainos, learn about their history, as well as see the species of birds and mammals that inhabit these caves. We will also visit several Mogotes and Atolls scattered in the sea surrounding the north of the Park, inhabited by dozens of bird species. Then we return to Sabana de la Mar where we will recharge our batteries with a succulent typical Dominican buffet lunch at Paraíso Caño Hondo Paradise. Where we can also take a refreshing swim in the Natural Pool.

We headed to Montaña Redonda, which we will climb to its summit in a Safari truck, this has a special location, being in the middle of two large lagoons (Laguna Limón & Laguna Redonda), to the east is the Atlantic Ocean and to the west the Eastern Cordillera.

Located between these points of interest, Montaña Redonda offers us the most spectacular panoramic view of the Dominican Republic. We can appreciate the beautiful landscape that surrounds both lagoons, the Bay and Samana Peninsula, from there you can take unique photos.
